Local Arts & Crafts at The Fairfax Garage - May18th, 10-3pm
Tomorrow I will be pitching my tent at "The Fairfax Garage" flea market 10am-3pm. I will be selling my über-comfy collage SKIRTZ. It looks like it's going to be a good mix of 30+ vendors of local arts and crafts. So if you are heading this way come by and check it out! Sounds like it's going to be a fun day!
...it's on SFD next to the old Good Earth..

A little thank you to all my new fans and 'bebacks' :-)
Menlo Park and Montclair Village: Two great shows in two great locations, plus fantastic weather what else can I ask for?
Admitting I had my anxieties before the day of, it being a first time for me to set up store on a sidewalk without using a tent, but my prayers were heard and the weather gods were in a good mood. Two weekends of sunshine and happy vending at two great art fairs were a nice kick-off into my (pre)fall season. Thanks also to Pacific Fine Arts, the promoter of both shows, for putting together a great show consisting of only high quality artisans!
I brought out both my summer (SKIRTZ) and my winter line (ALLURE in Style) and I didn't regret the little extra shlepping. In spite of the beautiful late summer weather, customers were definitely thinking about fall and the upcoming holidays, so interest in both lines was equally divided.
Visit my winter line at www.AllureInStyle.com and get a 25% discount when using special discount code "SPECIAl25" at check-out to get the best deal of the season for a perfect holiday gift!
And -- did I mention I'm throwing in FREE SHIPPING?!
Hope to see you again at one of my upcoming shows!
Enjoy!

First sketches for marketing materials
People will not believe how much more goes into a product than the actual product itself. Designing marketing materials is just one of the many hats I wear as an entrepreneur.
Lucky for me, my talented friend (and name twin) Anke Fachmann, has the expertise and time to lend a hand with this task. We are having a lot of fun bouncing ideas and sketches back and forth and watching the brand evolve.
I thought it would be fun to share some preliminary sketches we are working on, showing off the versatility of SKIRTZ.
There are so many ways to get mileage out of SKIRTZ. Wear them while riding a bike, as a top on your yoga pants, as a cover-up when going to the beach or as a fun maternity (or post pregnancy) top. Did we miss something?
My favorite is the lady on the beach with a cocktail in her hand :-) Thank you, Anke!!
Is it Happy Hour yet?!
Working on smaller sized pattern
The question of the day should be:
Is shorter really better?
This question being geared at all the pixie sized folks out there.
Now that I have established a great pattern for all the 'regular' sized people, I am working on a 'pixie sized' version. As I never in my life been a member of the 'XS-S club', I really find it hard to make a decision here. Spontaneously I would think that 'those' would want to show of their cute skinny legs and so I am leaning towards shortening the pattern by quite a bit. Also taking into consideration comments from small waisted women saying they might want to use the skirt while riding a bicycle or exercising otherwise.
So now I am asking advise from all my mini peeps to give me some feedback.
Here you see my first prototype sized XS-M. I think the length works, especially considering that you can adjust the length a bit by pulling the skirt higher or lower on the waist.
Short enough? Shorter? Longer?
